Coinbase Announce Support For Six New European Countries
Coinbase, a top U.S based crypto exchange has recently made it known that it services is now available to residents of six new European countries.
These countries are:
- Andorra
- Gibraltar
- Guernsey
- Iceland
- Isle of Man
- Lithuania
Expansion Goals
Since its launch in 2012, the company has always had global expansion in mind. So far, the exchange has been able to achieve this goal. With the addition of these six new exchanges, the exchange now has users from about 40 countries across the world.
Within these territories, new customers now have full access to Coinbase.com and it’s mobile applications on iOS and Android. However, Coinbase Prime and Pro will not be accessible for the new users, but the company promises to make them available with time.
The team at Coinbase has also issued some statement regarding this latest development. They also spoke about the company’s outlook for 2019.
According to them, “2019 will be a year of recurring expansion” says the team at the exchange. Next year, we will continue expanding rapidly into new regions and adding assets to the Coinbase platform to meet customer demand.”
The team continued that:
“Cryptocurrencies are globally their very nature and we believe that they should exist without borders. To realize our mission means making crypto easily available to everyone, irrespective of their geographical location.”
12 days of Coinbase
The expansion of the exchange to six new countries was the 11th announcement of the exchanges’ “12 days of Coinbase” event.
Since the event started, new announcements were made every day and below is the list of the daily announcements up to day 11 of the event:

- Donation of $10,000 in

- Listing of USD Coin (USDC)
- Direct crypto conversion capabilities on Coinbase
- Listing of Dai (DAI), Golem (
GNT ), Maker (MKR) and Zilliqa (ZIL) - The launch of Coinbase Earn that lets users earn crypto while learning about them in a simple and engaging way
- Welcoming customers in the aforementioned six European countries
