Cardano, a public blockchain project has recently made some announcements indicating that it is about to launch its biggest update.

Cardano 1.4 Set for Release

This was made known recently via a series of tweets made by the man behind the Cardano project, Charles Hoskinson. According to Charles, the third generation blockchain that promises to solve the “blockchain trilemma” is ready to release the Cardano 1.4.

The tweet reads:
“After seven release candidates and a huge amount of QA work, I’m pleased to announce that our best effort release date for Cardano 1.4 is December 18th. Daedalus users will get an in-client update notification next week. Thanks, everyone for your patience and support.”

Support From the Community

Following his tweet, the crypto community has made some very positive responses targeted at encouraging the team to continue with its good work on the project. The Cardano community has especially thanked Hoskinson for his continuous dedication to making sure to connect with the community through his social media accounts.

Hoskinson confirmed the release of the new update through a tweet which reads:
“Cardano’s best days are ahead of it. 1.4 is out today. Congratulations and heartfelt thanks to the amazing team that worked tirelessly to get this update out before.”

Rust Programming Language

A recent blog post describing the significance and advantage of the update has also listed some key features expected in the new update.

Principally, the update is going to improved support for the Rust programming language. The importance of this was further elaborated in the blog post. There it was stated that:
“Rust is a programming language used massively in various developments under iOS, Android, WebApps and similar environments. With this new update, Cardano supports an open-source Rust sandbox that will attract more developers by incorporating a more familiar programming language. It is important to note that Rust is a language that shares many features with C and C++, so developers could familiarize themselves more quickly with the project.”
